About The Unapologetic Therapist
If we take the time to listen, I think that any person's narrative, journey, and inspiration can be understood.

"I Create Unapologetically  Liberated Spaces for Intentional Connection, Healing and Learning"

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree, and my doctorate in Social Work. I have extensive experience collaborating with clients to help them build wellness/coping skills in managing life transitions, setting boundaries, understanding self, and overcoming burnout.  I am also an Assistant Professor at California Baptist University in the Social Work Program.

I am especially passionate about supporting individuals who experience the added stress and trauma of marginalization, racism, identity, and other -isms. I integrate my expertise with clients’ needs through the therapeutic relationship to promote holistic well-being.

I've embraced the pleasure and delight of supporting individuals at all stages of life.  My practice specializes in individual therapy, telemental health, couples counseling, promoting self-care, emotional intelligence, trauma-informed care, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, career issues, marriage/relationship stress, clinical supervision, and consultation.

I also provide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Workshops and Training to organizations to encourage humility and deeper conversations about race for sociocultural awareness, competency, resiliency, and staff care.

I will resume seeing new clients in January 2024!

Dr. Erica McIntosh,  LCSW
